Bangkok is a great place for shopping! Eric and I managed to get everything we need five days before our wedding there and for a great price!
Here are some of the shops I recommend for last minute wedding shopping!
This is my all time favourite shopping mall in the world! Opened in 2011, the whole shopping center is travel themed with every level a different city of the world. I like to call it the “sight-seeing mall”. This may sound weird but the toilet is a must do thing here!! All toilets are high-tech Japanese toilets and every level is designed unique to its city.
Tokyo is great for ladies wear and lingerie.
Istanbul is fantastic for shoes and leather shoes. Bought our wedding shoes here.
San Francisco is the food court.
Hollywood is the entertainment center.
I found the shops are quite independent and only feature some brand shops. Every shop was different and the prices are not overly priced. I tried haggling but none of them budged. Oh well.
My favourite levels are Istanbul and Tokyo!
This is one of Bangkok’s biggest shopping malls. Everyone knows MBK and would advise you to go there if you want to buy cheap stuff. Great place to bulk buy as recommended by our wedding planner. There are too many shops to look at and all looked too similar. Best to know what you want to buy. There is a level I went to that sold a lot of souvenirs. So we went there and bought 26 colourful elephant about 20cm in diameter wide. It cost a bit but we haggled down to around 3,640 baht. Our guest absolutely loved it! J
Eric bought a leather belt there for 199 baht as well.
Levels of women’s clothing! I didn’t spend too much time here but my sisters managed to get their bridesmaid dresses here for very cheap price they said. Good for them, it looks good on them. The quality isn’t that great but you can’t tell from the photographs! My little sister spent hours here and bought 5 bags of clothing for around 100 AUD! She’s very happy about it! If you’re not into shopping they have a cheap food court with many Asian dishes.
The two malls are next door to each other and are considered more luxury. I didn’t spend too much time, as there wasn’t anything I’m looking for. There was luxury car and motorbikes showcased in the mall (very nice…), lots of jewelry shops and branded clothing.
All malls are very easy to get to via taxi and BTS trains 🙂

- JIANGNAN DADAO (WEDDING DRESS STREET) although not in Thailand, if you ever get the chance to go to Guangzhou in China, this is the place to buy your bargin wedding dress and accessories! There’s mostly white western style dresses, some traditional chinese gowns and tons of evening and bridesmaid gowns! You’ll be drooling! Many studio photographers buy dresses and costumes here!
