Continued from Day 1 London to Paris.
Contiki European Experience – Day 2 of 20
So day 2 was pretty much a free day and you can do anything you wanted. I thought it was a bit soon to have a free day because I didn’t really bond with the group and felt a bit lost. I don’t really like to be alone so I was grateful I had a friend to cruise around with.
We took the metro and did the whole Arch of Triumph (paid 9 euros to go to the top). When you get out of the Metro, best to stay on that side if you want to take a photo. Then you’ll need to go back underground to get to the arch. The arch is ginormous and beautifully detailed.
There’s a shop in the arch that sells drinks and souvenirs.
Afterwards, we really didn’t know what to do so we just wondered around, took photos and shopped.
If I was to do this day again I would’ve gone to do Sanderman’s Free Paris walking tour because I was unprepared on what to do. Thought I’d just wing it and failed.
Although day 2 was a free day we had the option to do optional stuff organised by Contiki for the evening but we need to pay extra. I decided to do them 95% of them because they sound fun 🙂
Optional: Parisian Dinner (34.50 euros)
Optional: Nouvelle Eve cabaret show (77 euros)
The optional cabaret show was really good and I highly recommend you do this. It’s got the usual – dancing and singing but what I didn’t expect was they performed topless! I don’t have photos of it unfortunately.
